How to Build a Copilot
Ready to build your first Copilot? It's easy!
- Start by selecting "Copilots" from the menu.
- Choose to "Add Copilot"
- You will be prompted to choose a name and write a brief description
Choose to use the AI assistant to build a Copilot, copy a pre-existing Copilot, or use one of our templates
Templates are a great place to start. If you see one that suits your needs, select the template and follow along as CopilotBuilder walks you through creating your assistant.
If you choose to use the AI assistant, answer the questions it asks to the best of your ability.
Remember you are talking to a person-like assistant. You can ask it questions if you need clarification on something. Just talk to it like you would any technical professional!
- Once you finish working with the assistant, you will be navigated to an overview of the Copilot you built. From here, you can choose to fine-tune your prompt.
On this page, you will also be able to select some additional features for your Copilot:
- Creativity: This adjusts the degree of freedom the Copilot has to answer questions. The higher this value, the more variability between answers.
- Realtime Data: Turning this feature on will allow your Copilot to access the web to find answers it cannot find using just the data you provided for it. This can be useful for assistants who need to access information like the current weather for an area.
- Image Generation: This feature will enable your Copilot to generate images when asked
- Additional Rules: This is where you can get creative with your Copilot. For example, you could tell your copilot to direct users to a specific email or phone number if they need further help. You could also tell your copilot to limit responses to a certain length. The possibilities are truly endless!
Once you are finished on this page, choose "Save Prompt," and from here, you can start testing your Copilot.
Testing your Copilot is important! You may need to go back and further tune your assistant to provide proper feedback to your users.
